Why I Started Extra Mile
I'm Jesse Chandler — a recently retired veteran, husband, and father of 4. The military moved our family all over the country, and Jacksonville is where we put down roots. Everywhere we lived, we kept running into the same problem: national chain junk removal companies charging working families ridiculous prices for a job that just shouldn't cost that much.
Tracy and I finally said enough. We knew we could do better. So we bought a truck, got licensed and insured, and started Extra Mile in 2026 with one goal: do the job honest, do it right, and treat every neighbor the way we'd want our own family treated.
We're not going to pretend to be something we're not. We don't have massive crews. We don't have the biggest trucks in the industry. What we do offer is something special — a real local family who shows up on time, gives you an honest price, hauls hard, and makes sure your donations get a tax receipt in your name. That's something the big chains can't match no matter how many trucks they own.

When Tracy drops off your usable items at a local Jacksonville charity, she requests the donation receipt in your name — not ours. If you'd like, we'll send you a photo copy of the receipt so you have it for your tax filing.
That's a real, IRS-compliant deduction for furniture, appliances, clothing, electronics, and household goods you would have paid us to haul away anyway. Most clients save $50–$300 at tax time on top of our already-lower prices.
